How to get Adsense Approval for New Website - (10 Major Things Needed)

How to get Adsense approval

Starting a new website and monetizing it with Google Adsense is a dream for every new blogger but most bloggers get disappointed (even quits) when they can't get Adsense approval.

They apply for Google Adsense and their account gets stuck on "We're Working on Setting you up", it's all happens because they don't know the Google Adsense requirements to get their account approved.

So I made this blog post to explain "How to get Adsense Approval for New Website" and what are Google Adsense's requirements in detail.

How to get Adsense Approval for New Website

In order to get Adsense approval, the website should fulfill certain Adsense requirements like having High-Quality content, SEO-friendly Theme, Posts with META Tags, a Sufficient amount of content, Website age and etc.

I applied for Adsense with my new website without knowing the requirements to fulfill and got stuck on "still under review" but after canceling that Adsense account and fulfilling the requirements my site got approved quickly.

Those are some requirements your website has to meet but to know about the whole process just bear with me till the end of this article. Before applying for Adsense just make sure that your website and your contents have met some basic requirements.

Your website should be at least 6 months old website to get monetize but there some bloggers who got approved within the first month.

Before all of the requirements, make sure you use Adsense friendly Blogger Templates which is essential.

Customize the blogger template to improve your website's User Experience.

Things that Websites should have to get Adsense Approval

The following things are very important that the new websites should have in order to get Adsense approval.

1. High-Quality Contents

"Content is the King": No matter how many posts have you, the quality of your articles decides your traffic and loyal visitors to your website.

Posts with low word count always are left out of the race most times.

People like to get short answers, no one going to deny that and taking this into account, people are stopping with only straight answers with very low word count like 100-200 words, I like to say to them that Google Algorithm not only expect short answers but also elaborated one to back that up and make the visitors stay longer time on your website.

High-quality content is one of Google's ranking factors.

Even though Adsense only requires website articles with a minimum of 500 -600 words, I would still recommend you guys write at least 1000 words or go for 1500 words because Google loves those articles with long and quality content and make sure all of your articles are unique, don't involve in any Pilgarism.

But don't fill your blog posts like the semester exams, People and Search Engines loves In-Depth Content, not lengthy irrelevant writings.

Try to write viral articles by understanding your audience and also to expand your readers.

Don't publish unwanted things like Adult content, Hateful, Terror, and any Illegal related content on your website. Make sure your website is friendly to everyone.

2. Sufficient Amount of Contents

"Number Matters": Even if you have one or two very good articles which will bring so many visitors to your website but it won't last without having a good number of articles on your website. it won't be that helpful to monetize your website and able to earn from it.

You should have at least 15-30 articles in total from all pages and Categories on your website before applying for Adsense.

This is not an official amount of articles declared but recommend by many bloggers all around the world.

Those no of articles play a major role in getting approval from Adsense, you can't expect to get approved from Adsense with one or two posts even they're damn good.

So make at least 20+ articles before applying, it's not that difficult, set a target like "An article or two for a Week" and be consistent on it, you can easily write articles to those numbers.

And please don't rush it at the start, don't push yourself to write 10+ articles within a week or two because it will drain all your enthusiasm and even makes you drop the website.

Be Patient and Consistent.

3. Website Age

"Let it get Old": If you're an Indian or Chinese Blogger, your website should have at least 6 months of age to get approval from Adsense. The Official statement from the Adsense team is

"In some locations, including China and India, we require publishers to have owned their sites for 6 months. We’ve taken this step to ensure the quality of our advertising network and protect the interests of our advertisers and existing publishers." [source - Shoutmeloud]

But there are cases in which the bloggers got Adsense Approved before 6 months. One of my sites was approved only after several months which I think is due to a lack of good quality content.

So Content, website niche and website quality play a major role in getting Adsense approval.

4. SEO friendly and posts with META Tags

"Focus on METAs": META Title and META Description are the really important things that every blogger should focus on in order to rank on Google. If you don't know what META Title and Description then see the following image,

META Title is the title of your article that appears on Google Search of a certain topic and META Description is that Search Description that appears.

Why both of them play a major role in Google Search is that people don't go to a website directly to read from it when it appears in google search, they decide whether they're going to visit by judging your website from your article's title and description when it appears on the search result.

Your website should be SEO friendly and optimized because a crappy website can't retain its visitors and also it takes time to load its pages. People don't like websites that take so much time to load.

So you should enable META Description in your blogger

Websites with 3 Seconds or lesser loading time is Excellent. Remove all crappy and time taking things from your websites for better results, use good and SEO friendly themes and compress images to reduce sizes which will reduce some amount of unwanted loading time.

5. Website Niche

"Nicheless website is Soulless Body": First of all decide what you should write about on your website and which certain type of people you should target because it will help you to achieve organic traffic to your site.

For example, if your site is about "Shoes" then try to settle within the industry don't jump into the "Food" industry and start to give reviews about foods, because it not only difficult for regular visitors who come to your website just for the shoes and also it will be difficult for Crawlers to find what's the content of your site.

You may get Adsense approval without Niche but you can't beat the Algorithm all time and you may lose Target Ads which brings a lot of cash to you if your website doesn't have a Niche.
So start to find your target audience and convert them into your regular visitors.

6. Don't use Copyrighted Images

"Use your own images or Royalty-free Images":  Adsense is serious about using copyrighted contents, don't ever use other people's images without buying a license.

Use your own images taken by you or your family and friends or use your own customized images on your website. If you can't take pictures on your own then download Royalty-free images from various sites online.

My favorite site to download is "Pixabay" they have over Million pictures, you can download from them and use them on your site. I have been using their images for all my websites and for all my articles.

In order to get Adsense approval, I go through all my articles (20+ at that time) for any copyrighted images from my website and removed them all. I got the approval afterward and now you know the importance of not using copyrighted images. So please be conscious about what images you upload on your website.

7. Custom Domain

"Make sure you're Worthy": Even though I followed every other step, I was still stuck in the "Still under Review" and couldn't get Adsense approval but after buying a Custom Domain my website got approved within a month later.

There'll be millions of people waiting for Adsense approval, how you gonna beat that line to get Adsense approved before them.

My suggestion is that you should buy a custom domain, maybe it is impossible to beat the crowd without proving Adsense that your website is worthy of their approval

There are several cheap domains providing services like

  • GoDaddy
  • Hostinger
  • HostGator
  • BlueHost
  • Domain.com
  • Square Space
  • Google Domains

Everyone knows about GoDaddy, I brought a custom domain for one of my sites from them at a cheap price. They're good in this field, I seriously recommend you guys to buy a custom domain for your site before applying for Adsense, Trust me.

8. Add Legal Pages

"Add Pages to Know about you": To quickly get approved from Adsense, websites with pages like "About us", "Contact us", "Privacy Policy" is required and it's also good to add pages like "Terms & Conditions", "Disclaimer" and if you use Cookies on your website then you should put "Cookies Consent" because of European Law, [Source - Cookiebot]

According to the ruling by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) on valid consent in the EU, cookie banners are not allowed to have pre-ticked checkboxes when end-users land on a website.

The only form of valid consent is explicit consent, according to the highest legal body in the EU. [Source - Cookiebot]

Be conscious about what are the things that have been published on your website and be clear on options while making Legal Pages.

I repeat Legal Pages are very much appreciated by Google Adsense.

9. Don't put Ads

"Avoid using other Ads Publishing Networks": Don't rush yourself to earn money from your website right from the beginning. Don't go to other ad services to monetize your blog. It will only delay the process of Adsense approval.

Google Adsense is the number one ad publishing network, so they require lots of security details and requirements from your website to monetize your blog.

They're very conscious about what's on your website because people only want to visit clean and quality websites, they don't want to visit a sketchy and crappy website with unwanted and adults ads because everyone knows there're several websites in the whole with those type of ads that will scam them and bring viruses to their mobile phones, desktops, and Laptops.

People want only good websites and ads on your websites also determine the quality of your website. So please be careful about placing ads on your website. Avoid taking those risks at all costs, Adsense is worth the wait.

10. Obey Google Adsense Policies and Terms & Conditions

"Follow the Rules": Please make sure your website follows  Google and Google Adsense Policies. Before applying for Adsense, read their Policies and Terms & Conditions.

Use your website to spread positivity and don't use it to spread any kind of negativity. Also don't use your website to spread other people's Information, movies, songs, images, and any kind of unwanted, illegal, hateful activities, and Adult content.

Conclusion

If you followed all the steps mentioned above and you think your website is ready then "Apply for Adsense", I am pretty sure you can beat that very long "Adsense approval" waiting list and starts to earn money from Google Adsense quickly.

Bear in my mind that Patience and Consistency are two major things that every blogger should have for monetizing their website, many famous bloggers waited around a year or many before monetizing their website even I waited nearly for 8+ months to get Adsense approval for one of my sites.

So please be patient and don't be obsessed about getting monetized by Adsense. I gave you these steps both from my research and also from my personal experience. I think it will work for you too. Good luck.
