What is Blogspot
Blogspot is a free blog publishing service developed by Pyra Labs and brought by Google in 2003 that allows users to publish blogs by hosting it and publishes them under their subdomain of .blogspot.com.
How to Create a Free Blog on Blogspot
There are two steps in setting up a new Blogspot blog, which are
- Blog Creation
- Blog Setup
1. Blog Creation
Step 1 - Go to Google Blogger with your G-Mail (Google account), if you don't have one then create one it's free. (create Google account) and then select "Create your blog" as shown in Fig 1.

Step 2 - For the first time user, you will have to select your Identity whether from Google Plus or you can create your new limited Blogspot profile. Once you confirmed what you want to be shown as then click "Continue to Blogger" as shown in Fig 2.

It will take you to your blogger profile.
Step 3 - Your Blogger profile has been created now you have to create your blog from it.
To create your blog, select "Create New Blog" from the page under the "Welcome" menu as shown in Fig 3.

Step 4 - In this step, you have to create your blog by providing a Title, Web address, and suitable theme as shown in Fig 4.

For example, if you want to create "example.com" then in Google Blogger (Blogspot) you can create "example.blogspot.com".
For example, If your blog is about Cooking recipes then create your blog address as "(your brand name)cookingrecipes.blogspot.com" because it will be easy for users to understand what's your website is about and it also helps search engines to understand your blog.
You can change the theme later.
Step 5 - Now you have created your blog and your blogger profile will appear like Fig 5.

Step 6 - On the first time on the Blogger profile, you will be given an option to buy a Custom Domain from Google Domains as shown in Fig 6.

2. Blog Setup
1. Settings
Step 1 - Go to your blog profile and select "Settings" from the left navigation panel.
In which you can find "Google Analytics Property ID" under the "Basic" menu as shown in Fig 7.
Enter your Google Analytics account ID in that box to get analyzed and to get that information about your whole blog from Google Analytics.

Step 2 - Under the "Privacy" menu, enable "Visible to search engines" as in Fig 8 to get your articles shown in SERPs.

HTTPS means Hypertext Transfer Protocol Safe.
In most Self Hosting websites you have to buy an SSL certificate to show that your website/blog is safe but in Google Blogger it's free.

Under the "Formatting" menu you can find the "Time Zone" option as shown in Fig - 10, click on it. A dialogue box pops up and provides time zones of multiple locations, select your region and click "Save".

Enable Meta Descriptions because they're very important to let know the viewers what your blog post is about in 150-60 characters.
You have to learn to Create Good META Description every time because they encourage users to click on your blog posts when it appears on SERPs.

Generate a Sitemap for your Blog and enter it in the "Custom robots.txt" dialogue box.
Now link your blog with Google Search Console to know how your blog performance and acts in Google Search Engine. Once you generated your blog's sitemap now enter into your blog's GSC.
