  1. Launch the Google Chrome browser on the PC.


  2. Click the menu button (three horizontal dots) on the upper right corner of the browser.


  3. From the drop-down menu select "Settings", as shown in the below image.




  4. Settings page open in the new tab, from which down to the last and select "Advanced", as shown in the below image.





  5. On the following page, scroll down to the "Downloads" section and select the "Change" button on the "Location" submenu, as shown in the below image. 




  6. Now the browser allows you to select your desired default download directory on your desktop.

Make Chrome to Ask Download location for each download


Under the "Downloads" menu of the "Settings" page in the chrome browser, switch on the "Ask where to save each file before downloading" toggle switch to make your Google chrome allows you to select the desired location for each downloading file.

  6. Switch on the "Ask where to save files" toggle switch to your choose download path for each downloading file.



Google typically doesn't allow its users to change their default download path for privacy and security reasons, but it allows the users to select the download directory path for each file.
